Local Government Reorganisation

"The reason this local government reorganisation has been so appalling shambolic is that the Government made political decisions, as opposed to the right decisions. Reform in Lincolnshire welcomes the decision to pause there, but does the Minister understand that Reform in Warwickshire is concerned that the two-unitary proposal he is …..."

Budget Resolutions and Economic Situation

"The hon. Lady may not have read the Budget Red Book, but GDP growth is forecast to reduce from 1.6% back in March to just 1% in 2027, and indeed GDP per capita is also forecast to reduce from 1.3% to 0.9%, so the numbers in the forecasts are actually …..."

Budget Resolutions and Economic Situation

"Poorer—that is what every household in the country is, including in my constituency of Boston and Skegness. This year alone, real household disposable income is down 0.8%, and every single year between now and the end of this parliamentary term, the average household’s real disposable income is down compared to …..."

Budget Resolutions and Economic Situation

"Far from it—we are actually trying to build more houses on brownfield sites, because that is what we should do all over the country, including in the great town of Tunbridge Wells. We need to make it easier to build on brownfield sites. At the moment, house builders are giving …..."

"It is bad enough that dangerous criminals are being released early, but my constituents are frankly terrified that these prisoners are being released without tags—the world has gone mad, Minister. Will this Government commit not to release prisoners without tags?..."

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment his Department has made of the potential impact of levels of Machine Games Duty on the financial viability of not-for-profit members’ social clubs.

Written Question
Palestine: Politics and Government
Tuesday 20th October 2026

Asked by: Richard Tice (Reform UK - Boston and Skegness)

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what assessment his Department has made of the potential impact of (a) the time since the last legislative elections and (b) repeated postponements on the (i) democratic legitimacy and (ii) accountability of the Palestinian Authority.

Answered by Stephen Doughty - Minister of State (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office)

On 13 October, the UK, alongside Canada, France and Australia, issued a joint statement expressing regret at the postponement of Palestinian elections and encouraging a clear pathway towards credible elections. Credible legislative and presidential elections are an important part of the commitment President Abbas and the Palestinian Authority made to reform and should take place without further delay. Strengthening Palestinian governance is essential to continue building the institutional foundations of a viable two-state solution, which is the only path to lasting peace and security for both Israel and Palestine.
