To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to page 148 of the Industrial Strategy, when he plans to publish the new strategy for resources and waste.

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what funding will be made available to Salford City Council in financial years (a) 2015-16 and (b) 2016-17 to develop flood defences along the river Irwell.

Between 2015/16 and 2016/17 £5.635 million of Government funding has been allocated to the Salford Flood Alleviation Scheme, with £5.047 million allocated in 2015/16 and £0.588 million in 2016/17. This investment is for the second flood storage area at Castle Irwell in Salford, which will reduce the risk of flooding to 2000 properties.
