Written Question
Community Diagnostic Centres
Wednesday 24th June 2026

Asked by: Melanie Onn (Labour - Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes)

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what recent estimate has been made of the percentage of appointments made in Community Diagnostic Centres; and if he will publish them.

Answered by Karin Smyth - Minister of State (Department of Health and Social Care)

The DM01 Diagnostics Waiting Times and Activity dataset is a monthly National Health Service statistical return that tracks waiting times and completed procedures for 15 key diagnostic tests across England.

Data for all settings is available at the following link:

https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/statistical-work-areas/diagnostics-waiting-times-and-activity/monthly-diagnostics-waiting-times-and-activity/

Data for community diagnostic centres (CDCs) specifically is available at the following link:

https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/statistical-work-areas/diagnostics-waiting-times-and-activity/CDC-Management-Information/

CDC data is management information and so subject to less validation than official statistics.

The estimated percentage of non-emergency DM01 elective tests carried in CDCs for 2025/26 was 17.7%.
