Monday 7th October 2019

Asked by: Afzal Khan (Labour - Manchester, Gorton)

Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment has made of the effect on young drivers of pay-as-you-drive car insurance.

Answered by George Freeman

The Government has made no assessment of the effect pay-as-you-drive car insurance on young drivers.

The insurance market is very competitive and there are a wide range of policies that young drivers can choose from. Pay-as you-drive car insurance policies are one of a number of measures that young drivers have the option to take to help them reduce their insurance premiums.
