Hunting: Public Consultation
Asked by: Viscount Astor (Conservative - Excepted Hereditary) Monday 28th April 2025 Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the remarks by the Minister for Food Security and Rural Affairs on 1 April (HC Deb col 282), what plans they have to include the British Hound Sports Association in their forthcoming consultation on trail hunting. Answered by Baroness Hayman of Ullock - Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) The Government made a manifesto commitment to ban Trail Hunting as part of a set of measures to improve animal welfare. Work to determine the best approach is ongoing. Public stakeholders such as the British Hounds Sports Association will have the opportunity to contribute through any future consultation. |
