M25: Speed Limits
Asked by: Lord Lingfield (Conservative - Life peer) Tuesday 6th May 2025 Question to the Department for Transport: To ask His Majesty's Government when they expect the national speed limit of 70 miles per hour to be applied on the section of the M25 between Godstone and Sevenoaks. Answered by Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill - Minister of State (Department for Transport) The M25 between Godstone and Sevenoaks is currently subject to a 50mph speed limit whilst new stopped vehicle detection (SVD) technology is tested. Normal operations (variable mandatory speed limits up to the national speed limit) will be reinstated once the tests are complete. National Highways expects this to be before the end of May 2025 but is working hard to improve on this. |
