Change law around box junctions to give drivers more leniency

A report suggested that many yellow boxes are bigger than they need to be, on average by 50%. We believe the current rules may be abused by some authorities to raise revenue with no evidence of any benefits to traffic flow. Change law to give drivers more leniency with the suggestions below:
Increase regulation of parking signage

(Estimated Final Signatures: 15,651 - 13 added in the past 24hrs)
I call on the Government to increase regulations relating to parking signs to require councils to ensure they are made clearer and have clauses about what to do if there is, for example, an incorrect pay station in between the sign & the correct one.
The Government responsed to this petition on 11th August 2025 (View Full Response)Allow license holders to drive motorhomes up to 4250kg on UK Category B License
- 6,644 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 11,249 - 49 added in the past 24hrs)
We want the UK to allow UK license holders to drive motorhomes up to 4250kg on UK Category B Licenses, in line with proposed changes from the EU.
Require service stations to provide motorhome waste and water facilities
- 8,651 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 10,169 - 41 added in the past 24hrs)
We are calling on the Government to update guidance for Motorway Service Areas (MSAs), requiring they provide essential facilities for campervans and motorhomes: toilet (black waste), grey water disposal, and fresh water refill.
Require public consultation before airfields and aerodromes can be closed
- 5,605 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 5,655 - 6 added in the past 24hrs)
Airfields and aerodromes play a vital role in the UK's transportation network, economic growth, emergency services, and heritage. However, some sites may be closed and redeveloped, often without sufficient public consultation or long-term strategic consideration.
Petition for Parent/Child Parking Badges for children up to age 13
- 4,982 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 5,063 - 3 added in the past 24hrs)
I call on the Government to introduce a parent/child parking badge for parents or guardians with children up to age 13.
Introduce measures to protect digital ride-share drivers from exploitation
- 1,272 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 4,081 - 277 added in the past 24hrs)
We believe digital ride share drivers face growing exploitation from platform companies. They can take big commissions while paying little to drivers. Drivers work long hours but can earn less as fares and profits rise. Drivers now demand government action to end this unfair system.
Pass a law which bans the reselling of practical driving tests
- 3,775 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 3,922 - 13 added in the past 24hrs)
We urge the Government to pass a law which bans reselling practical driving tests and makes this practice illegal. We believe the lack of availability for booking a driving test in the UK is because people are openly booking and reselling practical tests.
Review 5-year residency limit for Moldovans to exchange their driving licences
- 3,221 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 3,274 - 5 added in the past 24hrs)
Review the 5-year residency limit for Moldovan citizens in the UK to exchange their licences and consider the introduction of a fair transition period so no one is left out, to ensure equal rights and no division in the community.
Ban 20mph speed limits with limited exceptions
- 1,424 Signatures
(Estimated Final Signatures: 3,040 - 19 added in the past 24hrs)
We believe anti car sentiment has become rife and 20mph speed limits are becoming commonplace in many towns and villages which just slows traffic and causes more congestion. There should be a national policy so 20mph limits are only used as the exception, e.g outside schools.
