PETA, an organisation that is meant to be dedicated to protecting animals, has proposed to the UK government that it should add Staffordshire Bull Terriers to the dangerous dogs act, effectively banning them outright. Breed Specific Legislation is not the solution to the problem of dog attacks.

- Final Signatures: 19,829
GBGB figures show 1,003 dogs were killed and 4,837 were injured as a direct result of greyhound racing in 2017 alone. These figures could be grossly underestimated because the GBGB are not independently audited. Dogs can be legally killed on economic grounds and not necessarily by a vet.

Owners search for months and years and never get closure. Scanning takes two minutes. Cats are a part of a family and deserve to be returned home, not thrown into landfill.

- Final Signatures: 59,354
As a wildlife rescue unit (Urban Squirrels), based in London and specializing in grey squirrels, we have just received an email from Natural England stating that licences for grey squirrels will not be renewed under the Invasive Alien Species (Enforcement and Permitting) Order 2019.

- Final Signatures: 109,076
To avoid a climate emergency we need to act fast. Rewilding and other natural climate solutions can draw millions of tonnes of CO2 out of the air through restoring and protecting our living systems. We call on the UK government to make a bold financial and political commitment to nature's recovery.

- Final Signatures: 12,928
Peat is vital in the fight against climate breakdown as it stores vast amounts of carbon. It also provides habitat for a diverse range of wildlife. Therefore we should not be using peat compost to improve the soil in our gardens. Other organic matter is available and is effective for growers.

- Final Signatures: 25,614
Margiris, the second largest trawler in the world, was spotted off the coast of the Isle of Wight at the end of September.
The UK Government should work internationally to ban these trawlers and remove them from UK waters.
Reclassify the theft of a pet to a specific crime in its own right.
- Final Signatures: 107,352
Review the sentencing guidelines for theft offences, so that where the theft of a family pet is involved, monetary value is irrelevant for the categorisation of the crime for sentencing purposes.
Ensure Police Forces are given appropriate guidance and training to record and investigate cases.

- Final Signatures: 6
All Laboratories involving dogs/cats should be required to have a rehoming strategy as a condition of being issued a licence and for the Government to fund a care/home system for laboratory animals. They should make public their adoption policies for rehoming and publish rehoming figures annually.
Ban the use of nylon gill nets for fish capture in UK waters.
- Final Signatures: 8
Inshore fish species such as bass, mullet and salmonids are being netted in the UK everyday. Much of this netting is carried out illegally in fish nursery areas, estuaries, and sensitive habitats. Gill nets also pose a risk to wildlife and wild swimmers becoming entangled. This practice must stop.
