This government is committed to hardwiring the voice of SME owners and entrepreneurs into government policy.
For example, as part of co-designing our Plan for Small Business launched in July 2025, DBT Ministers engaged with hundreds of individual SMEs across all sectors and regions, including through roundtables across key areas, such as High Streets, Markets and Finance, as well as specific policy events such as at Wilton Park.
Ministers and their teams continue to work closely with individual SMEs and the trade associations that represent them on an ongoing basis.

Protecting children from harm online is a top priority for this government.
This year, the government will be supporting a NSPCC summit at Wilton Park on the impact of AI on childhood. This will bring together experts, technology companies, civil society and young people to explore how AI can benefit children without exposing them to harm.
Media literacy is also a key part of our approach, helping children and adults develop critical thinking skills to navigate the growing presence of AI-generated content. DSIT is working with the Department for Education to develop an online ‘parent hub’ providing guidance on media literacy and online safety.

Industry standards are essential to ensure generative AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly. They set clear expectations for safety, transparency, and accountability, helping to protect children from harmful content and promote positive educational outcomes.
The Government is supporting these standards through the Trusted Third-Party AI Assurance Roadmap, which outlines steps to build a robust assurance ecosystem. This includes developing common frameworks, promoting interoperability, and fostering a market where independent assurance services can verify that AI systems meet agreed standards. Backed by £11 million investment, this approach will give businesses confidence that the AI systems they use operate as intended, safeguarding users—including children.
Additionally, this year, the Government will be supporting a summit at Wilton Park on the impact of AI on childhood. This will bring together experts, technology companies, civil society and young people to explore how AI can benefit children without exposing them to harm.

The UK co-hosted a conference at Wilton Park with the Palestinian Authority and Egypt on mobilising private sector finance in support of Palestinian-led planning for the Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza. Wilton Park Protocol means that we cannot provide exact names or institutions, but the attendees included international investors with particular focus on development impact, multilateral institutions, Palestinian private sector representatives, and our international partners, including European and Arab Governments.

On 13 October, alongside representatives from the Egyptian Government and the Palestinian Authority, I co-hosted a summit at Wilton Park focused on how we can leverage in private finance to support the reconstruction of Gaza and the recovery of the Palestinian economy, attended by business leaders from the region, international partners, and financial experts from here in the UK.
Both through short-term humanitarian relief, and long-term support, we are determined to help the Palestinian people as they rebuild their homes and livelihoods, and we will continue to drive international support for that effort as a crucial component of Phase Two of the US-led peace plan.

The Cabinet Office’s contract with Calder Conferences Limited to provide Venue Booking Services started in February 2023, under the previous administration.
The below table lists the venues and costs of venues booked by the Cabinet Office through Calder Conferences since 4 July 2024. Of the 223 bookings listed, 198 were commissioned under previous guidance regarding the booking of external venues, and 25 were commissioned following updated guidance issued by this government on 4 April 2025.
To provide further background information on each booking would incur disproportionate costs, but these have included events such as Civil Service Live 2025 and hearings for the Infected Blood Inquiry. These two events account for just over £587,000 of the costs of external venue hires via Calder since 4 April 2025.
This government’s updated guidance on restrictions to booking external venues, issued on 4 April 2025, makes clear that external venues for away days are only to be used when space in government buildings or zero cost venues is unavailable. When it is absolutely necessary to procure an external venue, departments must do so through established procurement routes. Any expenditure related to away days must demonstrate value for money and adhere to reasonable cost expectations.

Question to the Cabinet Office:
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the Answer of 29 August 2025 to Question 62335 on Senior Civil Service: Training, if he will list the external venues that have been authorised for hire since 4 April 2025; and the cost for each hire.

The Cabinet Office’s contract with Calder Conferences Limited to provide Venue Booking Services started in February 2023, under the previous administration.
The below table lists the venues and costs of venues booked by the Cabinet Office through Calder Conferences since 4 July 2024. Of the 223 bookings listed, 198 were commissioned under previous guidance regarding the booking of external venues, and 25 were commissioned following updated guidance issued by this government on 4 April 2025.
To provide further background information on each booking would incur disproportionate costs, but these have included events such as Civil Service Live 2025 and hearings for the Infected Blood Inquiry. These two events account for just over £587,000 of the costs of external venue hires via Calder since 4 April 2025.
This government’s updated guidance on restrictions to booking external venues, issued on 4 April 2025, makes clear that external venues for away days are only to be used when space in government buildings or zero cost venues is unavailable. When it is absolutely necessary to procure an external venue, departments must do so through established procurement routes. Any expenditure related to away days must demonstrate value for money and adhere to reasonable cost expectations.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what diplomatic steps he is taking with his counterparts in multilateral organisations to (a) defend and (b) advance sexual and reproductive (i) health and (ii) rights.

The UK works with multilateral organisations including the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), World Health Organisation and the Global Financing Facility, alongside governments and civil society and provides targeted funding, technical partnership and diplomatic engagement to defend and advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
Earlier this year on International Women's Day, the Foreign Secretary appointed Baroness Harman as Special Envoy for Women and Girls, progressing our foreign policy and development objectives to protect women and girls' rights, including SRHR. In June 2026, she met with international counterparts and programme partners at Wilton Park, expressing the UK's commitment to defending and advancing SRHR.
