Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what progress they have made in introducing electrical safety checks in the private rental sector.

Our recent public consultation sought views on introducing mandatory electrical safety checks in the private rented sector. There were just under 600 responses and we announced on 19 July that landlords will be required to have electrical installations in their properties checked every 5 years.
