The Government is confident of securing a withdrawal deal with the European Union before we leave in March 2019. However, we are preparing for all potential outcomes, including the unlikely scenario in which a mutually satisfactory agreement cannot be reached.

The Department is currently undertaking a risk assessment of the supply chain for all medicines and treatments, including radiotherapy, used on the National Health Service. This will ensure that any potential impact on the availability of medicines and medical isotopes for the NHS arising from the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU are identified and managed.
