Since the Act received Royal Assent, we have been working to develop our consultation on new competence and conduct regulatory standards, which will include qualification requirements for senior managers and executives in the social housing sector. As part of this we have had extensive engagement with a range of stakeholders including resident groups, landlords and qualifications providers. This stakeholder engagement has informed the proposals outlined within our consultation. The consultation will be published shortly.

The power within the Social Housing Regulation Act will be used to apply qualification requirements to housing managers within the social housing sector.
