Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government how much of the energy consumed in the UK is generated by coal.

In 2016, 9.1 per cent of UK electricity generation was from coal(1) (30.7 TWh coal-fired generation of 338.6 TWh total generation).
