Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government how much of the energy consumed in the UK is generated by coal.

In 2016, 9.1 per cent of UK electricity generation was from coal⁽¹⁾ (30.7 TWh coal-fired generation of 338.6 TWh total generation).
