Retail Trade: Prices

(asked on 30th March 2017) - View Source

Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the extent to which dynamic pricing is operated within the UK retail sector.

This question was answered on 12th April 2017

The UK Retail Sector is fiercely competitive – competition underpins consumer confidence, creates wider choice, increases quality and ensures transparency.

The Government believes consumers are best served by the operation of open competition between companies and, as part of this, businesses will set prices according to their assessment of the prevailing market conditions.
