Question to the Department for Education:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government how many pilots will be trialled in 2016 in preparation for the implementation of the measures contained in the Childcare Bill [HL].

We have announced that we will bring forward the implementation of the additional 15 hours of free childcare to September 2016 for some working families in some areas. More details on the early roll-out, including the timescale, where it will take place and who will be eligible will be announced in due course.
