Housing Starts

Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government how many house building starts in receipt of government financial support began in each financial year from 2005–06 to date.

The Government does not track all housing starts and completions, but the number of affordable housing starts in receipt of government funding since 2009-10 is published in the Department's Live Table 1012. A copy is attached and it is available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/live-tables-on-affordable-housing-supply.
Figures in this format were not collected prior to 2009-10.
