The Stabilisation Unit works with Government Departments to help facilitate cross-government conflict assessments, which seek to understand the key characteristics of conflicts. Freedom of religion or belief is considered as part of this framework where there are causes, actors or dynamics of the conflict related to religious beliefs. These internal cross-government analyses are owned and commissioned by Government Departments and often inform wider Government programming and policy making.
