Question to the Department for Education:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government, on the current definition of "coasting", what percentage of secondary schools with an average KS2 points score of (1) below 26, (2) 26–28, (3) 28–30, and (4) more than 30, would achieve the required benchmarks with regards to (a) 60 per cent of students achieving 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths, at A*–C grade, (b) expected progress in English, and (c) expected progress in maths, on their (i) 2014, and (ii) 2015, results.
No school can be defined as coasting under the government’s proposed coasting definition until after the 2016 results are available. The definition of coasting is determined by performance over a three year period.
