Question to the Home Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is their assessment of the potential impact of minimum unit pricing of 50 pence per unit of alcohol on the cost of living indices.

The government consulted on a proposed minimum unit price of 45p and published an impact assessment which included an estimate of the cost to different levels of drinkers. The impact assessment did not include as assessment at any other level.
