Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what is their assessment of the procedures in place regarding high hedges, high hedge remedial notices, and appeals.
Local Authorities are best placed to consider unresolved disputes regarding high hedges. These procedures are set out in Planning Practice Guidance. The Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 enables local authorities to intervene and gives people who are unhappy with a council’s decision a right of appeal to the Secretary of State.
