Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:

To ask His Majesty's Government what mechanisms they propose to support technology and delivery models to prove the demonstration phase of tidal range technologies in order to encourage the private sector to commit capital to major tidal range projects at scale.

The Government remains open to considering well-developed proposals for harnessing tidal range energy, including barrages and other models. Proposals must demonstrate strong value for money compared with other low-carbon technologies, system benefits and credible environmental mitigation.
