Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what plans they have to guarantee funding for agricultural research programmes that are currently funded by the EU, for the first five years following Brexit.

While the UK is still a member of the EU, UK organisations can continue to bid directly to the European Commission, on a competitive basis, for EU funding. Even when specific projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU, such as universities participating in Horizon 2020.

Decisions for future support will be made following discussions between stakeholders, Treasury and other interested Government Departments.
