Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment has been made of the likelihood of taxpayers having to fund any additional cost of storage of Hinkley Point’s nuclear waste.
As stated in the Departmental Minute on potential liabilities arising in relation to Hinkley Point C laid before Parliament on 21 October 2015, the likelihood of any liabilities to the taxpayer arising as a result of the arrangements to dispose of the plant’s higher activity waste is judged to be very low.
