Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask His Majesty's Government how many (1) adults, and (2) children were sectioned under the Mental Health Act in England in each of the last two years.

The following table shows the number of detentions under the Mental Health Act in England, which may include repeat detentions of the same individual:
