Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what governance arrangements are in place to ensure that expenditure committed in the preparation of NHS sustainability and transformation plans provides value for money.

Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs) themselves are drawn up collaboratively by existing organisations in the local areas, utilising existing resources. In addition, national bodies are working directly with STP teams to ensure local plans are as strong and deliverable as possible, and that financial plans achieve the best results for patients and communities within the resources available.
