Question to the Home Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government (1) how many police officers are currently having to self-isolate after being COVID-19 contact traced, and (2) what is the total number of police officer working days lost due to self-isolation in 2020 and 2021.

The Home Office does not hold the information requested centrally.

The Home Office collects and publishes information on the number of police officers on long term sick absence as at 31^st March each year, by police force area, in the annual ‘Police workforce’ statistical bulletin, available here: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/police-workforce-england-and-wales

The next release of ‘Police workforce’ statistics will be published on 28^th July 2021, and will represent the picture as at 31 March 2021.
