Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:
To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they plan to ask local authorities to begin compiling registers of brownfield land suitable for housing in advance of it becoming a statutory requirement.
Registers will make information about suitable brownfield housing sites available to developers and local communities helping to support the Government’s objectives of building more new homes on brownfield land. In advance of legislation requiring brownfield registers the Government will encourage local authorities to make this information available on a voluntary basis.
