UK Relations with EU: Women

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask His Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Baroness Chapman of Darlington on 6 February (HL14054), what definition of a woman they use in relation to (1) the Women, Peace and Security programmes set out in UK–EU security and defence partnership, published on 19 May 2025, (2) the Health Security programmes set out in UK-EU Summit: Common Understanding, published on 19 May 2025, (3) the PEACEPLUS Ireland–Northern Ireland/UK programme, and (4) initiatives supporting women under Erasmus+.

None of the programmes or initiatives referred to include such a definition. Delivery partners are responsible for implementing the overall aims and objectives of each programme or initiative in line with the legal frameworks and obligations that apply in the jurisdictions in which they operate.
