Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what was the result of the research commissioned by the Department of Health to explore new and innovative communication approaches that would be effective in raising awareness among women of the need to take folic acid supplements and in promoting behaviour change.

The commissioned research is one of the sources of information being considered to inform a decision on the best way to increase awareness among women of the importance of taking folic acid supplements. A decision will be announced in due course.
