Question to the Department for Education:
To ask Her Majesty's Government how many multi academy trusts have been obliged to give up some or all of their schools.

In the financial year 2017-18, 255 academies moved trust. Of these, 62 (24%) were due to intervention.
A trust transfer may be initiated by the department because of concerns about the academy or the academy trust responsible for it, for example: performance, finance, leadership and governance or safeguarding.
