Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate his Department has made of the number of nurses that will be employed by NHS trusts in England and Wales in each of the next five years; and if he will make a statement.

Health Education England is responsible for delivering a better health and healthcare workforce for England and for ensuring a secure future supply of nurses with the right skills, values and behaviours to meet future demand.
