Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many uniforms have been in use in each NHS trust in each of the last five years; what the total cost of uniforms was to (a) the NHS and (b) each NHS trust in each of the last five years; and how many different types of uniforms have been used in (a) the NHS and (b) each NHS trust in each of the last five years.

Uniforms are workwear and are typically purchased directly by trusts who contract with a number of different suppliers. NHS Supply Chain and NHS England and NHS Improvement are developing a project to adopt a national approach to standardising the purchase of uniforms.
