Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether his Department has issued instructions to medical staff in hospitals and care homes to apply Do Not Resuscitate notices on (a) patients over the age of 45 years and (b) all disabled people regardless of their age suspected of having covid-19.
NHS England and NHS Improvement have confirmed that there has never been an instruction or directive issued by the National Health Service to put in place blanket do not attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation decisions for any group of people in hospitals or care homes.
