Other Government Departments were notified of the changes. It is not believed that they will have any impact on local authority social services. Although the payments provided to destitute asylum seekers with dependants were reduced from 10 August 2015 they remain sufficient to cover essential living needs and free accommodation continues to be provided. The payment level for asylum seekers without dependants was raised to £36.95 (from £36.62) with effect from 6 April 2015.
