Question to the Scotland Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, what steps he has taken with Cabinet colleagues to support the energy industry in Scotland.
This question was answered on 28th October 2026
In the last week, this Government has demonstrated its commitment to Scotland’s energy future.
The Energy Secretary took the decision to green-light the Jackdaw gas field; I attended the opening of Sumitomo’s £350 million subsea cable factory at the Port of Nigg; and SSE confirmed that its Berwick Bank B offshore wind contracts will support 400 skilled Scottish jobs.
That is real delivery across gas, renewables, and clean manufacturing.
