Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what recent assessment has she made of the effect of the police allocation formula adequacy of funding allocated to Hampshire Constabulary.

The police funding formula remains the most reliable mechanism the department has to distribute core grant funding to forces. The police funding settlement for 2020/21 sets out the biggest increase in funding for the policing system since 2010, with Hampshire Constabulary receiving a total of up to £366.4m, an increase of up to £26m on 2019/20.

The Government will consider the way core grant funding is distributed to forces as part of our longer-term vision for policing.
