The Government has no plans for a review of any exclusions in protections afforded by the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998.

The Government supports the right of staff working in the National Health Service to raise concerns and expects all NHS organisations to support staff that wish to do so. We expect all NHS organisations to have in place whistleblowing policies, which are consistent with the protections afforded by the Employment Rights Act 1996, as amended by the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998, and which follow best practice.
