Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether her Department has assessed the potential merits of introducing a helpline for children within the social care system to call or text in emergency situations.
This question was answered on 17th March 2017
The Department funds the NSPCC for Childline and we have awarded them £2m a year up to 2020. Childline is a free 24-hour counselling service for children and young people and deals with any issue that is causing a child distress or concern.
