Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment he has made of trends in the level of albinism-related crimes in Malawi.
The UN report a total of 115 attacks, including 20 murders, against people with albinism in Malawi since 2014. Attacks increased significantly in 2014/15, following a clampdown in neighbouring Tanzania. The trend has been decreasing, but we remain concerned about ongoing attacks.
