Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what assessment he has made of the implications for his policies of the debate entitled The honouring of obligations and commitments by Turkiye, which took place at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on 12 October 2022.

We will continue our engagement with Turkey, to promote the shared values of the Council of Europe, of which Turkey is a founding member. We are grateful to the Council of Europe, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, for their work on the first monitoring report since Turkey was put under monitoring procedure, and for the debate on 12 October 2022.
