The Minister for Digital and Culture confirmed at the Report stage of the Digital Economy Bill in the House of Commons on 28 November 2016 that the Government intends to legislate to extend the Public Lending Right to include the remote lending of e-books. The Department is working to bring forward the necessary legislative amendment as soon as possible.
