The details of the extension of the Right to Buy scheme are still to be confirmed. The Government remains committed to the voluntary Right to Buy agreement reached with housing associations and the National Housing Federation, and the expanded regional pilot announced at Autumn Statement is evidence of that commitment. Under the voluntary agreement, housing associations will deliver an additional home through new supply nationally for every home sold. The scheme will be funded by the sale of higher value vacant council housing. In London, these will be replaced on a two-for-one basis, resulting in a net increase in affordable homes.
