Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what financial support her Department plans to offer secondary schools which provide summer school programmes for pupils transitioning from primary school to secondary school for September 2017.
This question was answered on 9th December 2016
The Department is not providing separate financial support to secondary schools for summer schools programmes, but schools can draw on their wider budgets to fund such provision.
Schools can prioritise support for disadvantaged pupils making the transition from primary to secondary school, including summer school programmes, through use of their pupil premium funding.
