Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what financial assistance is available from the public purse to secondary schools seeking to run a summer school programme for disadvantaged pupils.
This question was answered on 9th December 2016
The Department is not providing separate financial support to secondary schools for summer schools programmes, but schools can draw on their wider budgets to fund such provision.
Schools can prioritise support for disadvantaged pupils making the transition from primary to secondary school, including summer school programmes, through use of their pupil premium funding.
