Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what research his Department has funded into the potential relationship between bisphosphonates and instances of secondary breast cancer; and if he will make a statement.

The Department’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funds and supports research into all aspects of human health. In the last five years, the NIHR has supported delivery of nine studies on the use of bisphosphonates in the prevention or treatment of secondary breast cancer through the NIHR Clinical Research Network or an NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.
