The UK welcomes the establishment of an internal and independent United Nations Board of Inquiry into the incident involving an aid convoy in Syria on 19 September and fully supports its investigation. It is fundamental that humanitarian workers who are risking their lives to deliver badly needed aid across Syria can operate in safety. The UN inquiry is wholly independent. The UK does not provide funding and there is no UK Government presence on the Board.
