The Department for Education has already facilitated area reviews of post 16 education and training, establishing the best structures to offer high quality provision to meet the current and future needs of all learners and employers within the local areas.

We have begun working with key partners, including the Education and Training Foundation, the Gatsby Foundation, the Association of Colleges and the Association of Employment and Learning Providers, to understand the support the further education sector needs to implement the new T levels. The Secretary of State for Education last week announced a package of support for colleges, including a Strategic College Improvement Fund, a National Leaders of Further Education programme, and an expanded role for the FE Commissioner in supporting colleges to raise standards. We will continue to work with the sector to consider what further action we can put in place to ensure successful delivery of T levels.
