A preliminary Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) and Equality Analysis (EA) was published alongside the public consultation launched on the 7 April 2016. These documents address the proportion of repayment expected, the financial savings to the Government and the impact on students with different characteristics, including caring responsibilities. The Government will assess the responses to the consultation in this area.

The consultation document, EIA and EA can be found at the following address:

Following the closure of the consultation on the 30 June 2016, both the EIA and EA will be reviewed to take into consideration public views. Revised documents will be published alongside the Government response.
