Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, with reference to the terms of reference of the Earn or Learn implementation taskforce, how many of the two million new jobs and three million new apprenticeships he plans will be created in the cultural and creative sector.

My Department has not set a specific target for the number of apprenticeships and jobs to be created in the cultural and creative sector. We will however continue to work with our partners, such as the Department for Education, Arts Council England and the National Skills Academy to deliver programmes like the Creative Employment Programme. This scheme sets out to provide unemployed people aged 16-24 (graduate and non-graduate) with paid opportunities to gain access to on-the-job training, skills and experience in the arts and cultural sector.
