There are no changes in Government funding for children and adult mental health services planned.

Spending on mental health services is at record levels with an estimated spend of £11.7 billion in 2014/15. Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are also committed to increase their spending on mental health each year up to 2020 at least in line with the increase in their overall funding allocation. NHS England will be holding CCGs to account to ensure that this happens.

We announced an additional £1 billion of investment for mental health over the next five years to deliver improvements in perinatal mental health, crisis care and liaison psychiatry.

The Government also remains committed to investing £1.4 billion over the course of this Parliament to improve children and young people’s mental health. This includes the £1.25 billion announced in the March 2015 budget, which includes £75 million for perinatal mental health service, and the additional £150 million allocated in the 2014 Autumn Statement to improve community-based eating disorder services. £119 million of this overall investment has been allocated to CCGs in 2016-17 to transform local services through their Local Transformation Plans. It is for CCGs to decide how this funding should be used in collaboration with their local partners.
